Frequently asked questions

Do I need rafting experience to join?

No. All 3 tours are listed as 'Everybody welcome', so zero prior experience is required. Your guide handles the safety briefing on-site before you hit the water.

How intense are the rapids on the Neste d'Aure?

The Neste d'Aure is a Pyrenean mountain river fed by glacial snowmelt, which means water flow and rapid intensity vary with the season. May and June typically bring the strongest current as snowmelt peaks. August sessions tend to be mellower. Check conditions with your operator before booking.

What is the best time of year to go?

The season runs from May through September. For the biggest rush, target May or June when the Neste d'Aure runs highest. For calmer water and warmer air temperatures, July and August are the safer bet.

Which tour gives me the most time on the water?

Tour 0 with Pyrénées Trekking runs 2h to 3h, making it the longest session available. The two Office des sports de Montagne tours both run exactly 2 hours.

Are the tours conducted in English?

Yes. All 3 tours are conducted in both French and English, so non-French speakers are fully covered.
