Soča Splash runs one rafting trip on the Soča River, starting from Bovec, priced at 75 €. Duration ranges from 2.5h to 5.5h depending on the route, and the physical level is open to everyone. Book this one if you want glacier-fed whitewater through one of Europe's most striking alpine gorges. Secure your spot at least a few days ahead during peak summer months, as availability on the Soča tightens fast between June and August.
Rafting down the Soča River from Bovec
The Soča delivers Class II to IV rapids depending on water levels and the section you run. Spring snowmelt from the Julian Alps pushes flows higher, making conditions more technical. The trip is accessible to beginners but still delivers genuine whitewater action.
The rapid sections through the narrow limestone gorges are where the river accelerates and the walls close in. That combination of fast current, cold glacier water and tight canyon walls is the peak moment for most participants.
The Soča is fed by glacial sources in the Julian Alps, so water temperatures stay cold even in summer. A wetsuit is provided by the operator to keep you functional in the river.
No prior experience required. The physical level is listed as 'Everybody welcome', and the guide briefing covers everything you need before hitting the water. The session runs in Slovenian and English.
