Niak Rafting runs a single 3-hour session on the Oyapock River at 53 €, open to all fitness levels. The physical level is listed as "Everybody welcome", so no prior rafting experience is required. Guides speak both English and French. Book directly with Niak Rafting and confirm availability in advance, as this is the only operator running this route in French Guiana.
The Oyapock River runs through dense Amazonian rainforest near the Brazilian border, with rapids that vary in intensity depending on seasonal water levels. The operator lists the activity as open to everyone, which signals manageable intensity rather than extreme whitewater.
The Saut Maripa rapid, right at the meeting point, is the signature drop of the Oyapock and the biggest natural rush on this stretch of river.
The physical level is listed as "Everybody welcome", so no swimming performance is required. You will be equipped with a life jacket for the full 3-hour run.
The season runs from May through September. Water levels in French Guiana are influenced by tropical rainfall, so check conditions with Niak Rafting before booking if you have a specific date in mind.
