Canyoning near Nice runs from 60 € to 80 € for guided half-days or full sessions, with durations ranging from a half day to 6h. Three intensity tiers cover every profile. Beginners go straight to the Audin Stream with Azur Canyoning: the "Everybody welcome" rating means no prior experience needed. The Gorges du Loup sits one step up, rated "Occasionally sporty" at 60 €, ideal if you want a first real challenge without committing to a full day. For athletes, O'Limpide runs two "Sporty" descents: the Clue de Saint-Auban in the Verdon (3.5h, 65 €) and the Clue du Riolan (6h, 80 €), the longest and most demanding option in the lineup. Budget decides little here since the price gap is only 20 €. Let your physical level and available time make the call.

Most participants cite the first abseil rappel over a waterfall drop. You commit to the edge, lean back into the harness, and the noise of the water cuts off everything else. After that, jumps and slides feel manageable.
Moderate exposure to heights is part of every descent listed, including the beginner-level Audin Stream. If you freeze completely at the edge of a ledge, a guided session helps since guides brief you step by step before each jump or rappel.
All four tours offer English-language guiding. O'Limpide also covers Spanish for both the Clue de Saint-Auban and the Clue du Riolan descents.
The season runs May through September. Water levels are highest and most dynamic in May and June after snowmelt in the pre-Alps. July and August fill fast, so book at least two weeks ahead for summer slots.
