How to choose

All 3 flights cover Lake Bohinj and last 1.5h, but the launch point and price split them clearly. The two Loop Team and Kumulus Paragliding options at 130 € launch from lower elevations, Bohinjska Bistrica and Vogar (3,500 ft), making them the sharper entry point. The 190 € Kumulus Paragliding flight launches from Vogel, higher up the Julian Alps, giving you more air time over the glacial lake and a wider panorama of the Triglav National Park massif. Both 130 € options are rated 5.0/5 across 16 reviews, so you're not sacrificing quality to save 60 €. Pick the 130 € Vogar flight if you want a physically engaging launch marked "occasionally sporty". Go straight to Vogel if maximum altitude and a cleaner glide over the full lake is the priority.

Frequently asked questions

How intense is the launch at Vogar compared to Vogel?

The Vogar flight is rated "occasionally sporty", meaning the launch requires a short running takeoff on uneven alpine terrain. The Vogel and Bohinjska Bistrica flights are rated "everybody welcome", with a more straightforward start suitable for first-timers.

What's the most dramatic moment of the flight?

The first 30 seconds after takeoff, when the ground drops away and Lake Bohinj fills your entire field of vision below. The Vogel launch delivers this from the highest starting point of the three options.

Do you need any paragliding experience?

None. All three flights are tandem, meaning a certified pilot controls the glider. You run a few steps, lift off, and your only job is to enjoy the view over the Bohinj valley.

What's the best month to fly over Lake Bohinj?

The season runs May through September. July and August offer the most stable thermal conditions and the clearest visibility over the Julian Alps, but also the highest booking demand. Reserve early if you're flying in peak summer.

Is the 190 € Vogel flight worth the extra 60 €?

If altitude and panoramic range matter to you, yes. The Vogel launch sits higher on the mountain, extending your glide path and giving you a broader view of the Triglav massif. If you just want the lake experience at the lowest cost, the 130 € options deliver the same 1.5h format and a perfect 5.0/5 rating.
