Three routes, three intensity levels, priced from 25 € to 55 €. Vivak Nature runs the two entry-level options: Castillo de Locubín (25 €) and Moclín (35 €), both rated accessible to everyone with a half-day commitment of around 3 hours. The 10 € gap between them reflects the added vertical exposure and technical iron-rung work on the Moclín ridge. At the top of the range, Dim Trap's Zafarraya route hits 55 € for a full 6-hour day on a course rated "Occasionally sporty", meaning real arm-and-leg effort on exposed cliff sections. Pick Castillo de Locubín for a first clip-in, Moclín if you want more commitment without a full day out, and Zafarraya when you're ready to push your grip strength for six solid hours.
Via Ferrata Castillo de Locubin near Granada
At 25 €, Via Ferrata Castillo de Locubín with Vivak Nature is open to everyone and wraps up in around 3 hours, making it the lowest-risk entry point to clipping onto real rock.
Via Ferrata John Hogbin in Zafarraya, Granada
Via Ferrata John Hogbin in Zafarraya clocks 6 hours at a sporty physical level for 55 €, the longest and most demanding route of the three.
The Via Ferrata John Hogbin in Zafarraya is the most intense of the three. It runs for 6 full hours at a sporty physical level, meaning extended exposure on the rock face and sustained effort on the iron fixtures throughout the day.
Not for Castillo de Locubín or Moclín. Both are listed as accessible to everybody, so zero climbing background is required. The Zafarraya route is rated Occasionally sporty, so some fitness and comfort with heights will make the day significantly easier.
The crux sections, usually a near-vertical ladder or a traverse over open air, are where most people feel the strongest rush. On longer routes like Zafarraya, those moments come after hours of climbing, when your forearms are already working hard.
The tour listings do not specify age or weight restrictions for these routes. Contact the operator directly before booking if you have specific requirements: Vivak Nature for Castillo de Locubín and Moclín, Dim Trap for Zafarraya.
The season runs from May through October. Avoid peak summer midday heat in July and August by booking morning departure slots, especially for the 6-hour Zafarraya route.
