All 3 tours tackle the Navedo River canyon, rated a perfect 5.0/5 across 51 reviews, but they differ on price, operator and physical demand. At 45 €, Guias de Liebana y Picos de Europa delivers a 3h session rated "Occasionally sporty", meeting at the Sotama Visitor Center. Aqua21 Aventura charges 50 € for a half-day run flagged "Everybody welcome", making it the default pick for mixed-ability groups. At 60 €, Canoe Aventura Trophy sits at the top of the range for the same 3h "Occasionally sporty" format, meeting in Asturias just outside the Picos de Europa National Park boundary. Go with Aqua21 Aventura if anyone in the group has zero canyon experience. Pick Guias de Liebana for the best price-to-duration ratio on a sporty outing.
Canyoning excursion in Rio Navedo near Potes
Rated "Everybody welcome" at 50 €, Aqua21 Aventura is the only tour built for zero-experience participants, with guides operating in French, English and Spanish.
Canyoning in the River Navedo near Potes, Cantabria
At 45 €, Guias de Liebana y Picos de Europa delivers a full 3h "Occasionally sporty" session on the Navedo, the lowest rate in the lineup for that intensity level.
Two of the three tours are rated "Occasionally sporty", meaning you'll hit some rappels, jumps and sliding sections that get your heart going, but without requiring athletic training. The Aqua21 Aventura option is flagged "Everybody welcome", so the intensity is dialed back to suit first-timers.
Rappelling down a waterfall into a plunge pool is typically the peak-adrenaline moment in the Navedo. Guides brief you at the top, but that first step backward over the edge is where the rush hits hardest.
Some exposure to height is unavoidable during rappel sections. The "Occasionally sporty" tours assume basic comfort with that. If heights are a real concern, book the Aqua21 Aventura option, which is specifically designed for all levels.
Go with Canoe Aventura Trophy at 60 €. The meeting point near the Picos de Europa National Park puts you deeper in the canyon system, and the 3h "Occasionally sporty" format keeps the intensity high throughout.
All three tours run in Spanish and English. The Aqua21 Aventura excursion also offers French, making it the only multilingual option for French-speaking participants.

Equipment
Wear a swimsuit under your wetsuit and bring water shoes or old trainers with grip. All 3h "Occasionally sporty" sessions will have you in and out of the water repeatedly, so leave valuables in the car.
Getting there
The Navedo River tours depart from three different meeting points: the Sotama Visitor Center in Cantabria (Tour 0), Unquera off the N-621 road (Tour 1) and Siejo in Asturias (Tour 2), all within driving distance of Potes.
